Jackie Morawiec
Complementary Therapist
“I firmly believe in the benefits of the therapies which I practise and I find it rewarding seeing clients responding positively to the treatments I provide.”
Professional Profile
ITEC Diploma – Anatomy, Physiology and Body Massage
ITEC Diploma – Aromatherapy
Diploma – Indian Head Massage
I have been practising Aromatherapy since 1996 and subsequently obtained qualifications in Indian Head Massage and Reiki.
My knowledge has been further enhanced through working as part of a team, providing stress management counselling within group sessions, for a local health trust and a major financial institution.
I worked for the NHS for 26 years within a community clinic and subsequently managed a complementary and healthcare clinic for 5 years.
Why I chose aromatherapy
I worked within the NHS and private sector for many years before training to be a complementary therapist.
During a very stressful time in my life I had aromatherapy massage and was amazed at how it helped. I then decided to train as an aromatherapist. Whilst working in a GP practice, I had clients referred for Aromatherapy massage rather than taking medication for stress related problems. The outcomes were very positive. I also trained in Indian Head Massage and Reiki.
I love being able to help clients to help themselves.
Personal Profile
I live with my husband and teenage son in Wimborne. As well as my complementary therapy practice, I work part-time for a local charity as a self-management link worker. In this role, I help clients with long term health conditions connect to their local community by supporting them with information and accessing services.
In my spare time I am a voluntary walk leader for Moors Valley.
When I am not at work
I love walking with my family and our delightful, but energetic border collie and my girlfriends.
We also have a cat, a budgie and two fish to keep us busy.
My husband, our son and I love to travel and have in the last couple years been to Sri Lanka and Iceland and are looking forward to a trip to India later in the year. We love visiting National Trust properties in this country and enjoy weekends away.
Exercise is important to me and I am a member of a local gym where I participate in a number of classes. In addition, we have a large garden which keeps us all very busy.

The Future
I look forward to continuing to develop my complementary therapy practice.
I am hoping to train in other aspects of aromatherapy and to teach mindfulness meditation, so that I can add this to this to the treatments I offer. I feel my new role as a self-management link worker works very well with my complementary therapy practice.
